Opening of the First international forum of oncology and radiology
Grand opening of the First international forum of oncology and radiology was on the 25th of September, organized by FSBI «National medical radiological research center» of Ministry of health of Russia with support of Ministry of health of the Russian Federation, Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council and State Duma, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and also leading healthcare institutions, relevant organizations and associations of Russia, CIS states and Eurasia. The event is coincided with the 120th anniversary of Herzen Moscow Scientific and Research Oncological Institute.
The grand opening was held under the chairmanship of a director general of FSBI «NMRRC» of the Russian Ministry of Health A.D. Kaprin and the president of Forum, leader of National center of oncology of genital organs N.I. Rozhkova. The official opening was attended by a vice-chairman of the Committee for public health of State Duma of the Russian Federation N. F. Gerasimenko, a deputy minister of health of the Russian Federation N.A. Chorova, the first deputy minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation S. A. Tsyb, the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences A. M. Sergeev, the chief of Federal Service on surveillance in healthcare and social development of the Russian Federation M.A. Murashko, a member of the Federation Council E. F. Lakhova, a director of FSBI N.A. Dayhes and also heads of leading specialized institutes of Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin greeted the participants, guests and organizers of the Forum and mentioned the importance, relevance and large scale of this event for the purpose of the fight against cancer as one of the priorities of modern medicine in the whole world. "It is gratifying that your forum gathered Russian and foreign scientists, heads of medical institutes, representatives of related professions to discuss current professional problems. I am sure the participants of the meeting will be able to exchange the experience, scientific knowledge, practices and offer new approaches to improve the effectiveness of the fight against this threat", - Putin said.
Also the participants of the Forum were greeted by the chairman of the government of the Russian Federation D.A.Medvedev, chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation V.I.Matvienko, minister of health of the Russian Federation V.I.Skvortsova.
The momentous event of the First international forum of oncology and radiology was the signing of three cooperation agreements of FSBI «NMRRC» of the Russian Ministry of Health with “Rusatom healthcare”, “Shvabe”, “Rostech”, and also with the company “Best Medical International” (Canada). The main purpose of the signed agreements will be the unification of scientific and production capacities for the development of technologies to fight against cancer. The parties will join efforts to develop, implement and improve modern technologies of the production of high-tech equipment and innovative radionuclide products and radiopharmaceuticals based on them for nuclear medicine and medical radiology.
More than 2,500 specialists from Russia and abroad took part in the Forum. A large-scale scientific program and a special interdisciplinary, complex format of the event covers almost all areas and aspects of oncology. For the first time the training and practical course of the school ESTRO was held in the framework of the Forum in Russia.
The guests and participants of the forum will enjoy an extensive scientific program, which consists of congresses about topical issues of oncology and radiology, chaired by the most authoritative experts from Russia and abroad, master classes, scientific sessions, symposia, training sessions, discussion clubs and plenary sessions and traditional international readings in memory of Tsyba "Modern technologies in nuclear medicine: diagnostics and treatment". Within the framework of the forum there is a specialized exhibition, which presents the latest achievements of science and technology in the field of oncology.
